ph1.jpg (3756 bytes)Gerry was born in 1909, an era of wooden sidewalks, crystal radio sets, and the earliest days of the airplane. She married during the Great Depression, rode the world's largest Ferris wheel at the Chicago World's Fair, and danced a mean Charleston.

She washed and boiled her baby's cloth diapers, bought a half loaf of fresh bakery bread every day, and on hot summer nights slept at the beach with hundreds of other folks.

It was a time when people fed the beggars who came to their doors, bought fresh fruit from peddlers who hawked their wares from push carts down the alleys, and no one was afraid to walk the streets at night.

Gerry had a great appreciation for life and its blessings, faced adversity with courage, and had the most beautiful smile--

She saw decades of change that are historically unmatched and will probably be unsurpassed--well maybe. Who knows where this world-wide-web will take her next!
